Tommy King -Hatem Hamdy, also known as Tommy King, is a charismatic Egyptian dancer, well-known on an international level. His powerful and vivid style has turned him into one of the most wanted Belly Dance entertainers in the world- he is considered a true show-man, capable of mesmerizing his audience.
At the age of 10, Tommy began figure skating professionally. Captivated by Belly Dance through its great representatives, the golden age belly dancers Samia Gamal, Tahia Karioka, and Naima Akef, his passion for Oriental dance never left him.
Tommy has participated in multiple events and festivals, spreading his vivacious style around the world. He is known as an excellent and charming instructor capable of transmitting his knowledge and a soulful interpretation with savior-faire.
Michelle Sorensen - Based in Salt Lake City, UT, Michelle Sorensen is a professional Belly Dancer with nearly a decade of dedicated dance training. She began her studies under the direction of Kismet School of Dance (American), Kashmir Dance Company (ATS & Tribal Fusion), Trisha Mcbride (Tribal Fusion and Experimental) and more recently Rachel Brice (8 elements Phases 1 &2, Initiation and Cultivation Certified) and Stephanie Buranek (Cabaret/Egyptian).
She has also sought continued instruction through workshops and other events from some of the most innovative dancers in and out of the belly dance scene. Along with bellydance, she has discovered a love for the Aerial Arts, Exotic Dance, Contemporary Dance and Dancehall/Twerk. “Cross-training” in these genres of dance has helped her with stamina, strength, flexibility and finding her own artistic voice. Her life is also occupied with being a mother of 2 sweet little girls who are a constant inspiration to push boundaries and a reminder to explore!
Samer Alfares - A former member of the renowned Caracalla dance company and an internationally acknowledged master instructor from Syria, Samer is known for his skill at incorporating theatrical elements into traditional dance styles, resulting in beautiful and entertaining performances that capture the imagination. He is a passionate instructor who inspires his students to take their dance to the next level. His knowledge of music theory, regional styles, cultural background, and stage presentation is reflected in his teaching and enthusiasm for dance.
Kimberly Larkspur - A dainty and genteel Southern miss, Kimberly Larkspur is a classically-trained-musician-turned-dancer with a passion for pedagogy. With performance experience ranging from choral religious music to burlesque, she's hooked on sharing and exploring many facets of art both onstage and in the classroom.
Kimberly serves as the Artistic Director for Dance from the Heart, runs Dauntless Dance and Movement studio in Houston, TX, and performs with Sepiatonic. When she’s not rolling around on the dancefloor, she can often be found hunched over a cutting table cussin’ costumes in the Larkspur Designs studio.
Lily Tsai - Born in Taiwan, Lily grew up in the multi-cultural city of Houston, Texas with a strong Persian influence from a close family friend. She began studying Middle Eastern dance in Austin, Texas and quickly sought out instructors all over the US and abroad.
Lily grew up studying music and playing classical instruments like the piano, flute, bassoon, and percussion. Her unique style is a reflection of her understanding of rhythm, music composition, and dance movement. She is known for her artistry as well as her precise technique and dynamic stage presence.
Arielle - Arielle is a dynamic and passionately dedicated dancer who currently works out of Miami, FL. Her infatuation with bellydance began when she was growing up in Egypt, where she fell in love with Middle Eastern culture, music, and dance.. Arielle is the winner of several competitions and was a finalist on Egypt’s first bellydance competition show, Al Rakessa, which was directed and judged by the infamous dancer Dina. As a result of Arielle’s success on Al Rakessa, she became an overnight sensation in Egypt and currently holds the heart of the Egyptian people due to her ability to represent the dance and culture with sincerity, respect, and authenticity. With a background in burlesque, hip hop, flamenco, samba, African, ballet, jazz, modern/contemporary, bollywood, folklore, and many others, Arielle’s unique style is full of flair, sass, and versatility. Carlyn - Carlyn, an up and coming artist based in Denver, CO, has been studying belly dance for over 11 years while teaching and performing for over 7. A long time student of American belly dancer, Suzanna Del Vecchio, Carlyn has also had the pleasure of studying intensively with international superstar Sadie Marquardt, also of Denver, completing both levels I and II of her Raqs Flow program.
She is the Heart of America’s 2016 International Belly Dance Competition 1st Place Queen, judged by the accomplished Egyptian dancer and teacher, Raqia Hassan, and the 1st place winner of the Houston Oriental & Folklore 2017 Dance Competition judged by another wonderful Egyptian dancer, Aida Nour.
